1. About Maula
Maula is a scam protection app designed to help users detect suspicious phone numbers, risky SMS messages, fake mobile money reversals, PIN requests, OTP scams, and community-reported threats.
2. Information Maula may collect
Maula may collect device identifiers, app version, phone number provided during setup, reported phone numbers, report categories, risk signals, SMS risk fingerprints, and technical logs needed to operate the protection service.
3. Call and SMS protection
Maula may access incoming call information and SMS content to detect scam patterns and show risk alerts. The app uses this information to provide protection features and community safety intelligence.
4. Contacts permission
Maula uses contacts permission to reduce unnecessary alerts for saved contacts that have no risk reports. If a saved contact is reported or flagged as risky, Maula may still warn you.
5. Community reports
When you report a number, Maula may store the reported number, report category, description, risk level, device identifier, and time of report to help protect other users.
6. Data use
Data is used to detect scams, improve risk scoring, sync offline intelligence, provide alerts, prevent duplicate reports, and maintain the safety of the Maula community.
7. Advertising and sale of data
Maula does not sell your personal data to advertisers. The purpose of the app is scam protection, not advertising profiling.
8. Security
Maula uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. However, no digital system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Your responsibility
Maula provides risk alerts, but you should always verify financial requests through official channels before sending money, sharing PINs, OTPs, passwords, or personal information.
10. Contact
For privacy questions, contact the Maula support team through the official website or app support channel.
